For the first time in its 24-year history, Mall of America welcomes Larry Jefferson as its first black Santa Claus.

“There need to be more Santas of color, because this is America, and kids need to see a Santa that looks like them,” Santa Larry Jefferson said.

Christmas in July may sound like a foreign concept, but it happens in Branson, Mo., where the annual Discover Santa Convention takes place.
